This charming pattern by Modern Folk Embroidery was inspired by a wood carving from 13th century Italy. In the design two birds (peacocks perhaps) face each other atop branches in a single tree. With its symbolism and sweetness, this pattern would make a special wedding or anniversary gift.
Thread color is not specified in the pattern, so you are free to choose whatever you would like! Stitch the whole design in a single color for a monochrome look, or change things up with a palette of your favorite hues. You will need approximately 4 or 5 skeins of floss for the entire piece.
